How we got a Peloton bike for 1/4 the price

Posted by M. Bui on

If you’ve been here for a while now, you know we absolutely love incorporating cycling into our workout routine as a great low-impact cardio option.

We first had access to a Peloton bike at our old gym in Tampa, which is where we fell in love with indoor cycling. The Peloton classes are SO motivating & the teachers are incredible. When we left Tampa to move back to Sarasota and started working out more at home, we were missing our Peloton bike access but also didn’t want to spend $2,000 on a bike PLUS $40/month for the app when we really were only cycling 1-2 times a week.

That’s not to say the Peloton isn’t worth the investment, especially if it’s your main source of exercise. The Peloton bike has many great features, and the quality is truly top notch. However, we just couldn’t justify the cost of the bike + subscription over time.

We set out to figure out a way to get the same intense workout, at home, for a fraction of the cost and not to brag but… we nailed it ;)

Here’s everything you’ll need:

  • A tablet, laptop, or iPhone – free since we already had these

  • The Peloton App – 30 days free then $12.99/month

  • Optional: a very light set of weights (2-3 lbs) for the classes that include a short upper body circuit

That is truly everything you need to get a Peloton-quality workout at home for ONE QUARTER of the price!! Let us know if you give it a try, we’d love to hear your feedback.
