Hey beautiful people! Ash here! Quarantine has turned me into quite the snacker. When you live in an 800 square foot apartment and your desk is literally in the middle of the kitchen, it’s pretty hard not to be. There are days where I have to consciously remind myself to eat full meals throughout the day or I will just end up snacking until I’m not hungry anymore – whoops. On the bright side, most of the snacks I indulge are on the ‘healthier’ side. I’ve listed TEN of my favorite easy snacks – hopefully they won’t make you skip your meals too
1) Chia pudding
This is super easy to make in advance and a great source of protein. ¼ cup chia seeds, 1 cup oat/any kind of milk, 1 tsp cinnamon, drizzle of maple syrup (or sweetener of choice), pinch of salt
2) Dates with cashew butter
I eat two dates daily. Yes, two. I used to eat 5-6 a day before realizing how much sugar is packed in these little balls of heaven.
3) Veggies with hummus
Carrots and peppers are some of my favorites to dip, and Ithaca Hummus is our absolute favorite hummus brand.
4) Dried mangos
Trader Joe’s has the best ones in my opinion. They taste like candy and have no added sugar!
5) Trail mix
Try and get the mix WITHOUT chocolate
6) LaraBar – linked below
They’re around 200 calories and perfect for curbing the sweet tooth.
7) Apple and peanut butter
If you’re feeling extra, make sure to top with honey and cinnamon.
8) Paleo puffs – linked below
LesserEvil Grain Free Paleo Puffs
Lesser Evil Snacks have a special place in my heart and their new paleo puffs just bring me back to my childhood.
9) Energy balls
You can buy these in-store (which are usually pricey) or make your own at home. Recipe a few blog posts back!
10) Smoothie
I always sneak in some spinach or cauliflower to my smoothies and make sure not to make them TOO big because there can be a ton of sugar hiding in smoothies.
